Pregnancy & Halloween
So, Halloween is here and the streets are filled with cute, and maybe a few spooky, trick or treaters dressed up as monsters and creatures.
But, is Halloween any fun if you’re pregnant? We have to say, there are a few advantages to being pregnant at this time of year…
Lots of sweets and chocolate!
Halloween is typically a time of year when retailers go mad, stocking lots of sweet treats to tempt us all, and we are pretty sure that you have lot of these safely stored at home! But thanks to Halloween and your pregnancy bump, you have a totally legit way of overindulging on the sweets, toffee apples and candy floss. It was the baby, craving sweet things! (Probably not best to have this approach throughout all of your pregnancy though….!)
Dressing up
If you decide to dress up for a party or to go trick or treating with older children you have, you already have the most amazing in built design – you and your lovely baby bump will make a cracking pumpkin! Plus, for one night only, any pregnancy waddling will be concealed by your costume – phew!
Halloween is a time for kids, not just adults
And this means, at parties, you will not be feeling too left out as most parties are based with younger guests in mind, so you hopefully will not be missing and craving those alcohol filled cocktails! Halloween is perfect for hot chocolate if you ask us…!
To trick or not
Being pregnant means that you have a cunning and crafty excuse, ahem, “reason”, to stay in the warm and not go trick or treating out in the dark and cold gloomy night – instead, send the older children out with your significant other and put your feet up in front of the fire. Enjoy the peace while it lasts!
Don’t scare me!
Generally speaking, most trick or treaters, or grown adults, will not scare a pregnant woman – purely for the fear of them going into early labour. So it seems, for one year only at least, you have Halloween off!
