Look of the week: mama-to-be from Pinterest
This week, we found a headless stylish mama-to-be on Pinterest…
We don’t just want to focus on celebrities, do we!? This stylish lady’s Scandi/NY style is great for the current state of seasonal indecision. Do you take a coat? How many layers to wear? Is it going to rain? What about my shoooesss?!
We are having the same dilemmas in the Amoralia office, don’t worry! Except we don’t have 5lbs of baby making our body temperature fluctuate from minute to minute. But anyway, we digress… “what is she wearing”, we hear you cry. Well…
We shall start with the effortlessly cool ripped boyfriend jeans. Boyfriend jeans are everywhere at the moment and they are so unbelievably comfortable that there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t be wearing them. The pair we’ve chosen are very purse friendly at £38 and from ASOS – just roll up the cuffs if you want to imitate the look. If you’re feeling really crafty, pin and sew the bottoms of a straight leg pair into a taper (just make sure you can fit your ankle through the hole!)
A basic black maternity t-shirt is a wardrobe necessity but we chose a long sleeve nursing top from Séraphine which has longevity (you can also wear it during your pregnancy) and goes with pretty much everything. The scoop neckline is super flattering and it’s great if you’re not sure how warm it will be outside. At £29 it’s not going to break the bank either.
The extra long cardigan is our investment piece! From Hush, it’s made from baby alpaca wool (no baby alpacas where hurt!) and nylon so has a bit of stretch but is also super soft. This would be perfect for the hospital and first few weeks after you’ve had your baby too, as you’ll be surprised how cold you’ll feel when there is no growing little one keeping you warm.
We are pretty sure that the skater shoes are Céline but they are sold out everywhere so, unless you grabbed yourself a pair, you’re going to have to make do with Vans! They are in the sale on Office too, so get them whilst you still can! They are sturdy enough to withstand a bit of rain, can be machine washed and would also look super cute with tights and a dress!
Now, no outfit would be complete without some beautiful lingerie. We left ourselves til last, because we’re not rude, but what a finale! The Second Skin Organic nursing bra and short in aubergine have just arrived on our website. For AW14 we have a beautifully rich aubergine that would be a fantastic alternative to boring black lingerie! The crossover front makes it a really versatile style – wear it with all your lower cut tops and dresses to show off your new curves. The GOTS certified organic cotton is a real treat – super soft and oh so comfortable.
