Can I wear my old maternity or nursing bras for my second pregnancy?
Erm… well… our first question is do you really want to?
It really depends on when your last pregnancy was and what state these old bras are in. If you had your baby 6 months ago and you’re pregnant again (fast work, brave lady!) then they may still be in a serviceable condition.
However, it’s not very nice is it? We’re ready to bet our office biscuit bill (it’s a lot) that you’re not excited to put them on again. Unless they are from us, in which case go ahead!
If there’s a bigger gap between your last pregnancy and this one (or a planned one) you will most likely need at least one new maternity or nursing bra. Not only will they be a little grey with age but your bra size will also have changed. I’m sorry to say that it’s very likely your cup size will have gone down at least one size compared to before you had kids, and it’s possible that your band size will have gone up too. So you may be a totally different size now.
Don’t forget that you don’t have to wear a maternity bra – if you’re already a mum, you’ll most likely have decided whether to try and breastfeed again or not. You can wear a nursing bra right through your pregnancy as they are made in the same way (except for the nursing clips & drop down cups).
I think the best advice comes from one of our customers…
“Last time I had a baby I wasn’t sure how long breastfeeding would work out for me so I only bought a few rather grim bras and never got around to upgrading. I decided that this time around I was going to sort myself out immediately with some lovely bits & pieces and found out about you – and honestly, I have NEVER worn such chic and comfortable lingerie before. Absolute bliss – and very sexy too!”
We couldn’t have put it better ourselves. So, why not treat yourself and buy a new maternity or nursing bra– after all, a happy mama makes a happy baby!
