If you've always loved fashion and could quite happily spend hours browsing the shops at the weekend, then the fact that you've got a little one on the way doesn't have to mean that you have to abandon your personal style.
In fact, according to Emma Smith, founder and editor of YourStyleFix.com, it is more important than ever during your pregnancy that you stick to the styles and trends that have always worked for you.
"I think sometimes women can fall into the trap of thinking 'I'm pregnant' then go to maternity shops and they'll buy a top or something that's not suitable for them," she says.
"You're going to be more comfortable in what you're wearing if you're sitting as close to your own style as possible really."
However, if skinny jeans have always been your faves or you can't face the thought of an evening out without a pair of heels, you might have to start adapting your wardrobe to your changing shape as certain trends just won't hack it during these nine months.
But Emma claims that there's no need to resort to big, baggy clothes to cover your growing bump, and suggests that mums-to-be take some time to shop around and find the styles that work best for them and flatter their changing figure.
"Pregnancy is a great time to be emphasising all those changes that are going on," she adds.
"I think women should be trying on lots of different styles and clothes to see what's a perfect match for them. When you wear clothes that are going to fit your body properly, it makes you feel better about yourself."
Set aside a day and visit a couple of shops that sell a good range of maternity wear and then try on as many outfits as you can bear, opting for the styles that you feel comfortable in and that show off your bump rather than shrouding it.
At Amoralia, we strive to make the most stylish, the most comfortable and the best quality maternity wear on the market. Click to see our range of beautiful maternity bras.
