Reese Witherspoon dresses bump in glam gown

Finding the perfect outfit to dazzle at a black tie event is hard enough for any woman, but when you're expecting and have to contend with a growing belly and swollen feet, the task is just that much harder.

However, Reese Witherspoon appeared to be having no such problems last weekend as the pregnant actress showed off her blossoming baby bump in a stunning sapphire blue gown at the premiere of her new movie Mud in Cannes.

With a low-cut neckline and a cut out back, the glittering gown looked stunning on the 36-year-old, who completed the red carpet look with skyscraper heels and dazzling jewellery.

While many women would be slowing down by this stage of their pregnancy, Reese seemed to have taken the long-haul flight from the United States to France and the star-studded premiere in her stride.

"The flight over was actually pretty good. I feel great," she told Us Weekly magazine. "I'm excited about showing the movie. The energy here is great."

Whether she's relaxing on a Costa Rican beach, watching her son's football match or striding down the red carpet, Reese has continued to impress us with her maternity wear whatever the occasion.

Prior to the Mud premiere, the mother-of-two, who already has a son and daughter from her previous marriage to Ryan Phillippe, attended the Cannes photocall in a short black runched dress paired with bright pink heels.

With her blossoming bump clearly displayed, the actress looked relaxed and refreshed as she posed for photographers.

And, despite only having a small part in the movie, it seems as though Reese proved a valuable asset to the film's writer and director Jeff Nichols.

"I needed Reese Witherspoon. Even if her screen time is limited and, bless her heart, I kept her in a motel room most of the time, she still managed to look good," he said.

"I needed someone who, when she showed up, it was like SHE'S HERE! She had to be believable and stand out at the same time."
