Morning sickness… Could this help?
When I was pregnant with Sacha, I had hideous morning sickness for pretty much the whole pregnancy. Proper vomiting for the first 2 months, then just really bad nausea until 8 months. For anyone that hasn’t experienced it, imagine a stinking hangover in a very bumpy bus and you come some way to what if feels like. My best friend has the perfect word for it: ROTTEN. Putrid, stinky, depressing, flaccid, rank – you get the idea.
The only things that helped a little: sipping fizzing water throughout the day, (don’t talk to me about ginger), scarfing Doritos, getting a head massage (poor DH ended up with RSI) and sleeping. It’s a big reason I haven’t felt ready to ‘go again’ with another DS/DD – I literally can’t face the thought of having to suck it all up again. But I came across this the other day – an app/CD called NEVASIC (see what they’ve done there…) which claims to interfere with the feeling of imbalance triggered by receptors in the inner ear and restore stability, hence relieving the feelings of sickness. OMG, seriously? Does it work? Some mixed reviews on Mumsnet , some more positive ones on their own website (obvs). I would love to know if anyone else has had a positive experience of it. Let us know!
